KLM LUGGAGE ALLOWANCES

***********************************************************

HAND LUGGAGE

Hand luggage - one bag, maximum weight 12kg - maximum size 55 cm X 35 cm X 25 cm – plus a coat, umbrella/walking stick, purse, camera bag, and a reasonable amount of reading material.

HOLD LUGGAGE

Hold luggage is 20 kg per person for the UK to Amsterdam. The allowance from Amsterdam to the Caribbean is 25 kg. We advise you to keep to 20 kg to avoid problems with the flights from the UK and the inter island airline, DAE.

DIVE LUGGAGE

There is an extra allowance of 20 kg per person, for sports equipment e.g. diving equipment. KLM charge 20 euro, each way, for each 20Kg of diving equipment, payable at check-in.   The extra allowance can only be used for dive equipment. You must show your diver's card if using the "sports equipment" allowance. You can pack anything in your normal hold luggage ( as long as it's legal ! )  but if you exceed that allowance, the extra luggage can only be dive equipment and must be packed in a separate bag.

You cannot combine allowances  - i.e. you cannot pack 40 kg into one bag – claiming 20 kg standard luggage allowance and 20 kg sports equipment allowance.  They must be in two separate bags.   We must advise the airline of make, weight, size of any diver's lamps you are taking. Batteries are not allowed inside lamps in hold luggage.   DAE the inter island airline charge $2 per kilo for luggage over the 20Kg standard hold allowance.
